We’re looking for volunteers to help us run this year’s Jazz Festival and we’d love you to join the select band of jazz-lovers who give their time to make it all happen

How does it work?

We have two volunteers at all the main venues who are in attendance for a two hour slot.  Duties are simple, check audience wristbands on entry, attend to any issues which may arise, and generally be the face of the Festival.  There will be a Committee Member on duty at all times so no worries about being responsible.  There will also be a need for volunteers to help with the Saturday Parade, great fun this year with the audience joining in.  All quite simple really.

Now the good part!

When you’re not on duty, you get FREE entry to all the Festival venues. (Entry cannot be guaranteed if the venue has reached capacity.)

Food.  We have the community room at the Mowlem serving free refreshments for volunteers on Saturday and Sunday ‘till 7.00.

You’ll get the Swanage Jazz Festival 2020 T-shirt to add to your collection.  We hope to have a wide range of Swanage Jazz Festival 2020 merchandise this year and you’ll qualify for 20% OFF.

Lastly, we hope to have a bar-b-q when it’s all over and we’d love you all to come and enjoy one of our treasurer’s “charcoal free” events.

We try to have one or two gatherings for volunteers before the festival to welcome you all and answer any queries, but don’t worry if it’s too far for you to come.  We can make sure you’re fully in the picture.  If you are a student with limited funds, this may be a good way to get to see and hear some top line Jazz stars of today.

Sound good?  Can you make the 10th, 11th or 12th of July or maybe all three?

Then either ring Bruce Evans on 07885 624479 or email him on

All help is really important to make the festival happen.

See you at the 31st Swanage Jazz Festival
