We’ve made additions and changes to the 2019 Swanage Jazz Festival programme, so now there’s even more to look forward to! They are as follows:
The opening Festival Parade will be led by The Swanage Jemz a newly formed but highly experienced 7 piece Traditional marching Jazz band, just like you’d expect.
The Parade Time has changed and it will now run 11am – 12pm. Make sure you don’t miss it!
We’ve added two more Traditional Jazz Bands to the bill. On Saturday 13th we have The Memphis Jazzmen who feature the former Chris Barber clarinettist Mike Snelling and on Sunday 14th we have added The Stour Valley Stompers. I am sure you will enjoy both. Full details of times and venues are on the website.
We’ve also added the Boogie Woogie pianist Julian Phillips to Sunday’s line up.
The Festival Fringe (the free-to-air pub programme) has been boosted by the addition of The Dave Marchant Duo and The Tobie Muir Duo at the Red Lion on the Saturday and Chantoozy and Zoe Schwarz and Rob Koral (pictured above) at The White Swan on the Sunday. Thanks to the Landlords of both for hosting these.
Sadly, the FB Pocket Orchestra have had to withdraw from the Festival. We hope to see them another time.
We’re gearing up for the event and making final plans and preparations and trying to fix the weather. Why is the cloudline always engaged when we try and call? We look forward to welcoming you.
Not long now!
